The Best SERP Trackers in 2026, Compared by Cost per Keyword
Nine SERP trackers compared on what matters once the demo is over: what a keyword costs per month, how often it updates, and what the entry plan leaves out. Prices checked on each vendor's pricing page in September 2026.
The best SERP tracker is the one whose cost per keyword fits the number of keywords you actually track, at the update frequency you actually need. Entry prices hide that: a $4.99 plan and a $129 plan can cost about the same per keyword, and a $139 plan can cost four times more. This guide compares nine rank trackers on cost per keyword per month, update frequency and what the entry plan leaves out. Every price was checked on the vendor's own pricing page in September 2026, billed monthly unless noted.
At a glance
| Tool | Entry plan (monthly) | Keywords | Updates | Per keyword / month | 50 keywords cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SE Ranking | Core, $129 | 2,000 | Daily | 6.5¢ | $129 |
| SerpRobot | 1 bot, $4.99 | 75 | Daily | 6.7¢ | $4.99 |
| Wincher | Starter, €49 / $49 | 500 | Daily | 9.8¢ | $49 |
| AccuRanker | Professional, $224 | 2,000 | Daily | 11.2¢ | $224 |
| Ahrefs Rank Tracker | Lite, $129 | 750 | Weekly | 17.2¢ | $129 |
| Nightwatch | Starter, €79 billed annually | 500 | Daily + on demand | about €0.16–0.20 | €79–99 |
| AuditAE | No plan, 5¢ a check | No cap | Weekly + on demand | 21.7¢ | about $10.83 |
| Mangools SERPWatcher | Basic, $49 | 200 | Weekly | 24.5¢ | $49 |
| Semrush | SEO plan, $139 | 500 | Daily | 27.8¢ | $139 |
"Per keyword" divides the plan price by its keyword allowance, so it's the cost when the plan is full. Weekly and daily trackers aren't the same product: a weekly check at 21.7¢ is seven times fewer checks than a daily one at 6.5¢.
1. SE Ranking: best value for daily tracking at volume
SE Ranking's Core plan is $129 a month ($103.20 billed annually) for 2,000 keywords tracked daily, which works out to about 6.5¢ per keyword per month, the lowest of the daily trackers we checked once the plan is full. Core also includes 100 AI prompts and API credits, and there's a 14-day trial without a card.
Best for: agencies and in-house teams tracking hundreds to a couple of thousand keywords daily.
Watch out for: $129 is a lot for 50 keywords. AI Overviews and chatbot tracking beyond the included prompts is an $89 add-on.
2. Wincher: best simple daily tracker for small businesses
Wincher's Starter plan is €49 or $49 a month (about $40.83 billed annually) for 500 keywords updated daily, about 9.8¢ per keyword. It's a focused rank tracker rather than a suite, with a 7-day trial and no free plan.
Best for: a business or freelancer tracking one or a few sites daily without paying for a suite.
Watch out for: API access, white-label reports and manual refreshes start on the $89 Standard plan, and local map tracking uses separate credits.
3. SerpRobot: cheapest for a short keyword list
SerpRobot sells capacity in "bots": one bot is $4.99 a month and checks 75 keywords a day, about 6.7¢ per keyword. There's a 14-day free trial with no card, and you can check less often than daily if you want.
Best for: a short list of keywords you want checked daily for almost nothing.
Watch out for: it's a bare tracker. There's no suite around it, and we couldn't confirm API or AI Overview reporting from its pricing page.
4. AccuRanker: best for large keyword sets
AccuRanker's Professional plan is $224 a month (about $201.60 billed annually) for 2,000 keywords updated daily, 11.2¢ per keyword. It's aimed at teams that track a lot of keywords.
Best for: larger agencies and in-house SEO teams with thousands of keywords.
Watch out for: the API starts on the $764 Expert plan, and the entry plan is expensive for small lists.
5. Nightwatch: best for local and AI search tracking together
Nightwatch's Starter plan is €79 a month billed annually (€948 a year; about €99 billed monthly) for 500 keywords tracked daily, with on-demand refreshes and tracking in any location or language. Starter also includes 50 AI prompts covering ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews. There's a 14-day trial with no card.
Best for: local and multi-location SEO, and teams that want Google rankings and AI answers in one tracker.
Watch out for: prices are in euros, and the API starts on the €159 Professional plan.
6. Mangools SERPWatcher: best for beginners
SERPWatcher comes with Mangools' Basic plan at $49 a month ($29.90 billed annually) for 200 keywords, alongside Mangools' keyword and SERP tools. It tracks desktop and mobile across tens of thousands of locations.
Best for: beginners and small sites that want an easy tool with keyword research included.
Watch out for: Basic updates weekly. Daily tracking needs the $129 Agency plan.
7. Semrush Position Tracking: best if you already use Semrush
Semrush's SEO plan is $139 a month ($117.33 billed annually) for 500 keywords updated daily, 27.8¢ per keyword, with the whole SEO toolkit around it: keyword research, backlinks and site audit. The Semrush One tiers add AI visibility tracking, and more keywords above Starter, from $199 to $549 a month. Our Semrush pricing breakdown has every tier.
Best for: teams that use the rest of the suite every week.
Watch out for: as a rank tracker alone it's the most expensive entry per keyword here, and you upgrade the plan to track more.
8. Ahrefs Rank Tracker: best if you're already on Ahrefs
Ahrefs Lite is $129 a month for 750 tracked keywords, about 17.2¢ per keyword, alongside Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer and Site Audit. Lite also includes a few AI prompts and API/MCP access. The Ahrefs pricing breakdown covers the other plans.
Best for: teams already paying for Ahrefs for backlinks and research.
Watch out for: Rank Tracker updates weekly by default on every plan, and there's no free trial.
9. AuditAE: best pay-as-you-go tracker with AI Overview citations
AuditAE has no plan: each keyword check is 5¢, tracked keywords refresh weekly, and you can check any keyword on demand. That's about 21.7¢ per keyword per month, about $10.83 for 50 keywords, with no keyword cap and nothing to pay in months you don't track. You pick the Google country per keyword, and each check records your position and ranking URL, whether an AI Overview appears and whether it cites you, and who holds the featured snippet. The same account checks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews name your brand for buyer questions. New accounts get $5 of credit with no card.
Best for: tracking a few dozen keywords without a subscription, and seeing AI Overview citations next to rankings.
Watch out for: it isn't cheap at volume. Past a few hundred keywords, or if you need daily positions, Wincher or SE Ranking cost much less per keyword.
Free options: Search Console and SerpBear
Google Search Console is free and first-party. The Performance report shows average position, clicks and impressions for queries you already appear for, by country and device. It won't track a keyword you don't rank for yet, and average position is an aggregate, so treat it as a check on your tracker rather than a replacement.
SerpBear is an open-source rank tracker you host yourself. The app is free and has unlimited keywords, but it needs a SERP API behind it. At serper.dev's listed pay-as-you-go rate of $1 per 1,000 searches, 500 keywords checked daily is about $15 a month.
How to choose
- Under 75 keywords, daily: SerpRobot.
- Under 100 keywords, weekly, no subscription: AuditAE.
- Around 500 keywords, daily: Wincher, or Nightwatch if local or AI search matters.
- 1,000–2,000 keywords, daily: SE Ranking, or AccuRanker for larger teams.
- Already on a suite: use Semrush's or Ahrefs' tracker before adding a separate one.
Whichever you pick, keep Search Console connected: it's the only source of real clicks. And if your buyers ask ChatGPT and Google's AI answers before they search, a ranking won't tell you whether those answers mention you. For the rest of the stack, see the best SEO tools for agencies.
FAQ
For most sites tracking a few hundred keywords daily, Wincher or SE Ranking: Wincher is $49 a month for 500 keywords and SE Ranking is $129 for 2,000, both updated daily. For a short list, SerpRobot tracks 75 keywords daily for $4.99. If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs, use their built-in tracker before adding another tool.
For a handful of keywords, SerpRobot at $4.99 a month for 75 daily keywords, or a pay-per-check tool like AuditAE at 5¢ a check with no subscription. Per keyword at volume, SE Ranking's Core plan is the cheapest daily tracker we checked, at about 6.5¢ per keyword per month. Google Search Console and the self-hosted SerpBear are free, with limits.
Usually not. Rankings for most keywords move slowly, and weekly checks are enough to see whether a change worked. Daily tracking helps during a migration or launch, for news and ecommerce sites where positions move fast, and for agencies that report to clients who watch daily.
Partly. Search Console shows your average position, clicks and impressions for the queries you already appear for, by country and device. It won't track a keyword you don't rank for yet, and average position is an aggregate rather than a daily check, so most sites pair it with a tracker.
Several now report AI search in some form. Nightwatch's Starter plan includes 50 AI prompts across engines including AI Overviews, SE Ranking sells an AI Search add-on, and Semrush's One tiers add AI visibility tracking. AuditAE records on every keyword check whether an AI Overview appears and whether it cites your site.
